Morning

Education for mechanical engineers

The French specialist in engineering education Pr. CASTEX, President of CIT, the French Commission for the Title of Engineer, will present the French specificity. In order to start the exchange on educational systems in the various countries a page is presented on the web

 How to become a French Mechanical Engineer

 

and it is expected that all ICOMES societies will send to AFM a short report on education for mechanical engineers in their own countries not later than may 2002 in order to allow the receiving country to draw a synthesis on the information

Visit of Ecole Polytechnique

 

Ecole Polytechnique the highest level educational site in France. The visit will be centered around the educational system and the research laboratories for mechanics

Visit of CEA Saclay

CEA Saclmay is the main Research Center of the French Nuclear Authority. This visit will also be centered around the the research laboratories for mechanics

Visit of the Technical Center For Mechanical Engineering Research (CETIM, Senlis) This technical center for technical transfers is situated at 40 kilometers North of Paris. It is the most advanced transfer center on mechanics in France covering all the facets of mechanical engineering for equipments, components and productivity.

Lunch at CETM Senlis

 

Afternoon

Visit of Senlis (medieval city that used to be Capital of France)

and Chantilly (one of the most beautiful castles and gardens in France)

The participants are invited by CETIM
